Agriculture
Rehabilitate the soil and extend its productivity
About
Herdade de Moncorvo is a portuguese company that manages and operates two agricultural properties, Herdade de Moncorvo and Monte da Raposinha, in the Council of Beja, Alentejo, Portugal, integrating the irrigation area of Alqueva, with a total of 170 hectares.
Commitment
Enhance the interaction
between the different elements of an agricultural ecosystem, such as plants, animals, soil, water and climate, with the insertion of Man himself.
Provide the construction of social-economic models of agriculture that are sustainable, fairer and that allow healthier diets.
Continuous improvement of soil health, promoting biodiversity and reducing erosion, while improving productivity and food quality.
Supply
Nuts
We have two organic productive varieties of nuts, Serr and Howard, chosen among more than 20 for their flavor, which, combined with the type of agriculture we practice, gives them distinctive organoleptic properties that are highly appreciated by consumers.
Sheeps
We have introduced an indigenous and rustic
breed of sheep considered to be in danger of
extinction – the Campaniça - which is only grass-fed, preserving and recovering its rusticity and which already won 3 prizes out of 4 in the breed competition, two 1st places and one 2nd place.
